TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, Oct. 12 (PIA) - The Department of Labor and Employment- Regional Office IV-A (DOLE IV-A) recently conducted the three-day Basic Employment Service Training (BEST) for Cavite Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers.

The training program, held at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol building, was in partnership with Cavite PESO Managers' Association (CPMA), Inc.

Regional Employment Focal Person, Naomi N. Hernandez led the discussion on the first day engaging in topics namely: Understanding DO 113 Series of 2011; Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK Caravan); Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES); Government Internship Program (GIP); DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP); Anti-Child Labor Law; Reintegration Service for OFW; and Philippine Jobstart Program.

Meanwhile, Labor Market Information (LMI) Focal Person Marie Iris A. Prieto helped the participants on how to realize their career choices and help them decide on their preferred jobs with her presentation about the concepts and uses of LMI.

The said presentation was also supported by the topics on Career Guidance and Employment Coaching (CGEC) aptly given by Career Guidance and Employment Coaching (CGEC) Focal Person, Jorge Manuel C. Laude.

During the training, applicants were given hands-on-training on PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) led by Hernandez creating profiles of individuals covering the qualifications and skills of the applicants and at the same time a file for registered employers with list of job vacancies.

On the third and last day of the training, Dominador C. Aquino from the Bureau of Local Employment revealed the criteria for the search for the Best PESO.

The Basic Employment Service Training was successful with Hernandez expressing her sincerest appreciation to the participants, guest speakers and to everyone who gave efforts in the said training. (Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite/with reports from PICAD)
