TARLAC CITY, Nov 9 (PIA) -- Social Security System (SSS) Tarlac Branch continues to accept calamity loan application of members and pensioners that were affected by typhoon "Ompong."
Tarlac Branch Junior Member Service Representative Giancarla Uy said SSS started offering calamity loan, advance three-month pension and direct house repair and improvement loan under the Calamity Loan Assistance Program last October 5 for its members who are residing in areas declared under state of calamity.
"Under the SSS Calamity Loan Assistance, affected members can apply for calamity loans up to Php16,000 if they are paying contributions based on the maximum monthly salary credit,"
"In addition, they should have at least 36 monthly contributions, six of which must be paid within the 12-month period preceding the date of application," Uy added.
The loan shall be payable within two years in 24 equal monthly installments with interest rate of 10 percent per annum, and one percent monthly penalty for late payments.
However, members who are still paying their loan balance under the Loan Restructuring Program and previous calamity loans as well as those with final benefit claims, such as for total permanent disability and retirement, are not qualified under the assistance program.
"Qualified applicants are required to present two valid IDs together with an accomplished application form and barangay certification form as proof that the applying pensioner is affected by the calamity," Uy emphasized.
"Overseas Filipino Workers members who reside within the declared calamity area should issue an authorization letter to their representatives who will file the calamity loan assistance applications on their behalf," Uy furthered.
SSS will accept applicants until January 4, 2019. (CLJD/CJVF-PIA 3)
