NAGA CITY, Jan. 9 (PIA) - The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), thru its Corporate Initiative Advocacy Division (CIAD) and Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Department (CCPAD) handed over goodies to families in Buhi gravely affected by TD Usman.
The team, in coordination with NGCP's Operations and Maintenance (O&M) unit, prepared 200 packs of food and non food items and turned it over to affected families of Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Sitio Caubasan and another 400 packs were also turned over to the affected families of Sitio Catangiran, Monte Calvario, both of Buhi, Camarines Sur on Jan. 3.
Sitio Caubasan is host to NGCP Naga-Tiwi 230 KV Line to Plant A and Naga-Tiwi 230 KV Line to Plant C of Tiwi Geothermal Plant.
Each family received rice, canned goods, flashlight, battery, slippers, bottled water, energy drink, personal hygiene kits (toothpaste and toothbrush), sanitary napkin, underwear, emergency medical kit and blanket.
The goodies were turned over to Hon. Margie Aguinillo, Mayor of Buhi and Punong Barangay Jeffrey Afante.
Aside from the municipalities in Camarines Sur, the town of Tiwi in Albay also suffered a big blow when TD Usman caused a massive landslide in the said area.
"Though no specific barangays are traversed by lines, LGU Tiwi is host to the following facilities; Tiwi Substation, Tiwi 230 KV Tie Line and Tiwi-Pawa 69 KV Line," NGCP Regional Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Officer Nilda Somera said in an interview.
On January 8 NGCP also handed over 350 packs of relief goods to the affected families in the said municipality. (LSMacatangay-PIAV/Camarines Sur)
