CEBU CITY, May 22 (PIA) - Around 20 exhibitors from the farming sector in Cebu are expected to participate in the Tabo sa DA on May 29-31, 2019 at the compound of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office in Cebu City.
Rice and fresh produce from the farms in the province will be sold during the trade fair at lower prices.
"The produce will be sold at lower prices since they are sold straight from the farms, wala mu-agi sa middlemen ug wala man sab silay bayad sa area (they did not go through middlemen and the farmers are not paying for the exhibit area)," said Dr. Gerry Avila, supervising chief engineer for the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) of DA-7, during the Kapihan sa PIA forum held May 22.
Veterinary services for cats and dogs will also be done during the three-day trade fair, such as free neuter, spay, anti-rabies vaccination, and deworming.
A free seminar on mushroom and urban gardening will also be conducted on May 29 for those interested to start a small business.
DA-7 Information Officer Cheryl dela Victoria said the seminar is open to the public but the slots are limited to 50 participants.
"We already have 25 confirmed participants as of yesterday (May 21)," said dela Victoria.
Registration details are posted on the the DA-7 Facebook page. (rmn)
