CEBU CITY, Aug. 20 (PIA) -- For millennials planning out their careers as early as in their senior high school years, many would want to know which school would be best, and most especially, how much it would possibly cost.
Well, good thing that with just a few clicks, a student can now easily choose which institution can help him/her tread the right career path.
Edukasyon PH is a free education technology platform in the Philippines, empowering the "Gen Z youth" to make better-informed education, career, and life choices.
This online education technology startup seeks to improve access to education and employment.
Edukasyon PH does this by equipping students with (1) thousands of education options through a comprehensive database of schools, courses and scholarships, (2) relevant and accurate advice content with their online blog, and (3) a strong community of parents, peers and educators to guide students through their education to employment journey.
The platform has now become a one-stop comprehensive platform and source of information on opportunities here and abroad for both students and parents.
They can now search, inquire, and apply for courses, see available scholarships, and manage tuition fees through its online payment system.
On the other hand, schools across the country can also provide a listing of their different course offerings in their respective universities.
Since its launch in 2013, Edukasyon has grown to more than one million monthly users covering more than 40 percent of Filipino students with internet access, making it one of the fastest growing and fifth largest ASEAN EdTech startup.
Ten million students now access the platform each year, representing half of Gen Z youth nationwide.
In 2018, nearly 750,000 student visitors originated from the Visayas region - with increasing volume in 2019 - showing significant opportunity to help the youth on their path to quality education and sustainable careers.
In Cebu City alone, there have been a record of 480,000 students who used the platform.
It projects more than a million student users in the Visayas alone as the year closes.
Some 48 percent of those registered in the platform are between the ages 18 to 24 years old, mostly female.
As of now, Edukasyon currently has more than 500 educational partners, and 50 foundation and corporate partners in the Visayas regions.
More than 10 schools in the Visayas region have joined Edukasyon's partner community to date, including Silliman University, University of San Jose-Recoletos, University of San Agustin, Southwestern University PHINMA, Cebu Doctor's University, Indiana Aerospace University, and several technical-vocational institutions.
