LANAO DEL NORTE, Sep. 13 (PIA)--The National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) through Sec. Noel Felongco signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Kauswagan Mayor Rommel Arnado for the Prototype Project Implementation, September 12 at Kauswagan Municipal Hall.
The project includes the construction of a P3M worth of Coco Processing Center for the coco farmers of Kauswagan and nearby municipalities of Munai, Poona Piagapo and Bacolod.
NAPC selected Kauswagan to be the model municipality of the peacebuilding project to inspire other municipalities to continue on creating programs, projects and activities that strengthen unity among Muslim and Christian residents.
Kauswagan is one of the seven areas in the country prioritized by NAPC to fund poverty reduction prototype projects such as compact farming, construction of Multi-purpose Buildings and Village-Linked Coco Industry Development including Majayjay Laguna; Cebu City; Calbayog Samar; Talipao Sulu; Valladolid Negros Occidental; and Kayapa Nueva Vizcaya.
Before the MOA was signed, NAPC Officials conducted an orientation to volunteers for the "Ka-Sambayanihan Program."
Felongco said, "The program aims to spur the inclusive participation of our stakeholders at the barangay level. Our target is to mobilize 1 million volunteers nationwide as our active partners in monitoring and evaluating the poverty reduction programs in the country." (PIO-LDN/PIA10)
