CEBU CITY, Sept. 3 (PIA) -- Task Group Cebu-Bohol-Siquijor has welcomed its new commander during the turnover ceremony held Sept. 3 at Camp Lapu-Lapu Central Command, Lahug, Cebu City.
Col. Jerry Borja stepped in as the commander of the task group after Col. Noel Baluyan relinquished his post to the incoming commander.
Baluyan has been in the task group since 2016 and has been instrumental in the creation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF)in Countering Violent Extremism within the region.
"Honestly speaking, my Cebu assignment was the most challenging yet most fulfilling and rewarding assignment in my more than 29 years in service,'' said Baluyan in his message during the turnover ceremony.
He has led the task group in accomplising leadership summits, Brigada Eskwela activities, and outreach programs in far-flung barangays in Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor.
The task force group also conducted search and rescue retrieval operations assistance during the landslide in Naga City, assistance during Sinulog festivals, as well as holding security awareness seminars in the provinces.
The turnover ceremony was led by Major General Dinoh A. Dolina, Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army (PA).
Baluyan will now be assigned as commander of the 302nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division PA in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental. (smb/PIA7)
