Governor Francisco Emmanuel Ortega III turned over the new firetrucks to the Bureau of Fire Protection-La Union headed by Supt. Eddie Jucutan in a ceremony held on Tuesday, February 18 at the Provincial Capitol here.
Ortega expressed his gratitude to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Senator Christopher Lawrence Go for providing La Union these new firefighting equipment.
"We would like to thank PRRD and Senator Go for giving us the firetrucks. This simple program is our way of showing our gratefulness to them. We want to return the favor and show that we are accepting it fully," he said in an interview.
The rescue trucks are Isuzu FVR34 equipped with a 1,000-gallon capacity and 20 water tenders with 2,500-gallon capacity.
These assets will be granted to the fire stations of Aringay and Sto Tomas.
