BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 27 (PIA) - The Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) has proposed the installation of Bantayog-Wika Gaddang in the province.
The proposal was made by KWF through Commissioner Dr. Purificacion Delima since Gaddang is one of the first dialects in the province.
The Bantayog-Wika aims to document the indigenous languages of the Philippines through physical structure that symbolizes the value of indigenous languages and its Filipino values, practices, tradition, and history.
Former Governor Ruth Padilla, chairperson of the Provincial Council for Culture and the Arts (PCCA) and Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) said they have submitted a resolution recommending the Provincial Museum as the site for the installation of the Bantayog-Wika Gaddang.
"We suggested to use the left side of the stage or the present site of the children's play area for the installation of the structure which was also approved by Governor Carlos Padilla during a recent site inspection," she said.
Padilla said Gaddang leaders and elders have already conducted a consultative meeting last year to discuss the structure's details and design, guided by the PCCA's recommendation that the structure will be built at the back of the Provincial Museum.
Once built, Nueva Vizcaya will be added to the 17 Bantayog-Wika structures in various parts of the country.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2 Nueva Vizcaya)
