DAET, Camarines Norte, April 8 (PIA) - More than P22.9 million was allocated to 7,403 beneficiaries under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers - Bahay Ko, Barangay Ko Disinfection and Sanitation Program or TUPAD #BKBK of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in this province as of April 5.
Provincial Officer Jane Rolda said that TUPAD #BKBK is a program where beneficiaries will do the disinfection and sanitation of their dwellings and surroundings.
She said that they also submitted to DOLE Region V another P4.8M budget for 1,552 beneficiaries for approval.
The qualified beneficiaries are self-employed who have lost their livelihood due to the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
The TUPAD workers were provided with Basic Orientation on Safety and Health and about the project in their respective barangays.
Rolda said that each beneficiary will receive P310.00 for 10 days based on the prevailing provincial rate. Payment of wages is through Money Remittance Service Provider in the province upon completing the work period.
The identification of beneficiaries was through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
The program is in line with Proclamations No. 922 and 929 series of 2020 declaring a State of Public Health Emergency and State of Calamity throughout the country due to Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) to cushion and mitigate its impact to the livelihoods of business sector.
TUPAD is stipulated in the "Bayanihan to Heal as One Act" under Republic Act No. 11469 approved by President Rodrigo Duterte on March 24, 2020. (RBManlangit-PIAV/Camarines Norte).
