NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, May 22 (PIA6) -- Some 1,159 employees from 31 different establishments in San Carlos City have each received their P5,000 financial assistance under the Department of Labor and Employment- COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (DOLE-CAMP) as of May 20, 2020.

Officer-In-Charge Erel Lim of San Carlos City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) said that out of the 548 listed establishments in the city, only 76 establishments were approved for the said cash assistance.

Some employees have already claimed their financial assistance through the given transaction code by DOLE at the nearest partner bank and money remittance center such as the Development Bank of the Philippines and MLhuillier.

Lim added that the employers were the ones who applied for their employees' financial aid, which ended May 15 and new applications are no longer accommodated.

The DOLE-CAMP assistance aimed at helping private employees who were displaced and affected during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The DOLE allocated a budget of P1.6-billion for Region 6 through its CAMP program. (LTP/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
