QUEZON CITY, JULY 9, (PIA) -- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Wednesday early morning advised the public to follow the health and safety guidelines for non-essential travel following its suspension lifting by the authorities.

"Suspension of non-essential travel by Filipinos is now lifted. All exit travel restrictions are also lifted. Conditions for outbound travel of Filipinos, 'yung Pilipinong gustong lumabas sa bayan niya, ito lang ang tandaan ninyo," he said.

The President said the conditions must be followed to ensure the safety of Filipino travelers.

"This is not only a mandate dito sa Pilipinas. This is so because Covid is still rampaging," he said.

To recall, Under IATF Resolution 52 approved on Monday, Filipinos traveling on tourist visas need to submit confirmed round-trip tickets before they can be allowed to embark on non-essential outbound travel.

Then, they must have adequate travel and health insurance to cover rebooking, extended accommodation and hospitalization in case of infection

Moreover, they should be allowed entry by destination country.

Finally, they must execute a travel declaration acknowledging the risk of travelling and risk of delay in travelling.

Non-essential travel of Filipinos outside the country was suspended in March amid the coronavirus outbreak. (PIA NCR)
