NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro, July 8 (PIA) - The Department of Health (DOH) accredited recently the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Nabunturan as a Ligtas COVID-19 Center, the first in the province of Davao de Oro.
The announcement came after the municipal government completed the requirements according to DOH-Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Joint Administrative Order 2020-001, DOH Memorandum No. 2020-0123, and DOH Department Memorandum No. 2020-0170.
Among the requirements stipulated are the structure including utilities and basic amenities, manpower, supplies including personal protective equipment, special services like mental health and psychosocial services, and financing.
Located at Purok 9 in Barangay Poblacion of the town, RHU Nabunturan has 12 beds; and doctor, nurses and other medical personnel, who are trained to inspect, handle, and care COVID-19 cases including suspected and probable cases.
Being a temporary treatment and monitoring facility, the health unit will also cater confirmed COVID-19 patients if ever there is an overspill of patients in the Davao de Oro Provincial Hospitals.
Meanwhile, the eleven municipalities of the province are establishing municipal isolation units as the province welcomes returning Overseas Filipinos, and locally stranded individuals. (PIA11, Michael Uy)
