TAGBILARAN CITY, Sept. 15 (PIA) -- The City Government of Tagbilaran was conferred the Bronze Award under the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy & Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Out of the 16 cities in Region 7, Tagbilaran City is the second local government unit that passed the rigid selection process of the recognition along with the National Economic and Development Authority-7 and Carcar Water District.

PRIME-HRM is a program that assesses the HRM practices, systems and capabilities of government agencies as well as entails greater engagement not just of the HR officers but also of the officials and the rank-in-file employees of the agencies.

It aims to elevate public sector HR management to a level of excellence through a process of assessment, assistance and recognition of HRM systems, competencies, and practices using HRM maturity level indicators that are at par with global HRM standards.

PRIME-HRM also envisions to inspire agencies to transform their HRM systems that support the agency mandate, empower agencies in the performance of human resource management functions, promote and reward excellent human resource management practices, serve as a venue for exchange and development of expertise in the area of human resource management between and among government agencies, and serve as a search mechanism for best practices in human resource management.

Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II, in his Facebook post, expressed his appreciation to the City Human Resource and Management Development Office led by Karina Mae Uy and City Administrator Cathelyn Torremocha for their efforts that led to the award.

On behalf of Tagbilaran City, Yap accepted the citation in a virtual awarding ceremony on Sept. 11, 2020. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
