CALOOCAN CITY, Oct. 22 (PIA) -- The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) on Wednesday commenced the training of personnel from all chapters of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) who will be designated as "ARTA Champions" and authorized to receive Ease of Doing Business (EODB)-related complaints from the private sector.
The agency said the two-day training aims to broaden the participants' knowledge on the EODB Law, familiarize them on the complaints handling process flow of ARTA, and to capacitate them on identifying complaints that are under its jurisdiction.
Recognized as an official representative of the private business community and with a nationwide network of local chapters, PCCI was authorized by ARTA to receive complaints from the private sector for violations of the EODB Law.
The ARTA, for its part, shall then ensure that the complaints endorsed by PCCI are acted upon accordingly and promptly.
"Through PCCI's established presence on the business community and through ARTA's commitment to capacitate them in handling EODB-related complaints, it is our goal to ensure that the voice of the business sector is being heard and incorporated in our efforts to cut red tape and make doing business in the country easier", said Director General Jeremiah Belgica.
Deputizing the PCCI as ARTA Champions is part of the strengthened partnership between the ARTA and PCCI which was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last August 27. (PIA NCR)
