DAVAO CITY, Dec. 1 (PIA) - The Provincial Government of Davao del Sur has intensified the provision of financial and livelihood assistance to the province's peoples organizations especially in far-flung areas.
Governor Douglas Cagas has personally handed over the checks to the beneficiaries in the turnover ceremonies every Monday convocation of the local government unit at the lobby of the provincial capitol.
Among the assistance was the P200,000.00 additional capital for the microenterprise project of the Tagabawa Highland Cluster 2 Association in Barangay Sibulan, Sta. Cruz town, which will benefit 50 members.
Another additional capital for a micro-enterprise project was worth P165,000.00 which will aid 33 beneficiaries from the Garbo Sinoron Farmers Association in Barangay Sinoron, also in St. Cruz.
In the municipality of Bansalan, the Barangay Altavista Farmers 2019 Association has received P200,000.00 livelihood assistance for its consumer store, to benefit 179 members.
The same cash assistance was also given to Tacub Peace Keeper and Workers Association in Barangay Tacub in the municipality of Kiblawan for the association's agricultural supply to assist 94 members.
Another livelihood assistance worth P200,000.00 was poured in to Liwayan Integrated Farmers Association (LIFA) in Barangay Kisulan in Kiblawan, for its buy and sell business involving banana varieties cardava and lakatan. The association has 65 members.
Cagas has also turned over P450,000.00 worth of check to LIFA and to the Saliducon Bagobo Farmers Association in Barangay Saliducon in Sta. Cruz. Town, which has 48 members.
The livelihood assistance were just among the many assistance which have already been provided for the peoples organizations in the province amid the pandemic. (PIA-XI/Samantha Jabol)
