ILOILO CITY, Jan. 22 (PIA) - The Iloilo Provincial Government said that the temporary ban on swine, pork, pork products, and by-products coming from areas affected by the African swine fever (ASF) is still in effect in Iloilo Province.
This is contained in Advisory No. 2, dated January 7, 2021, issued by Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr.
Defensor reminded the public that the temporary ban remains due to the increasing number of ASF cases.
In the advisory, the ban covers swine, pork, pork products, and by-products sourced from countries or localities in the Philippines identified by the Department of Agriculture.
The ban includes products sourced from Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Zambia, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao People Democratic Republic, South Korea, and China.
Likewise, the ban on the said products also covers Luzon and Mindanao, including their island provinces, to prevent the entry of ASF in the province. (JSC/LTP/PIA6 Iloilo)
