CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, Jan 22 (PIA) - In aid to the distance learning implementation, the Department of Education Region IV-A CALABARZON launched Help Educators Rise to Online Education (HEROES) 2021 this year to assist educators and learners in the e-learning environment.

"We will continue developing ways by which, such creative ways will enhance the role of teachers [and technology] in implementing DepEd programs and initiatives," Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones emphasized.

Utilizing the Thames' experiential and technology-enabled model of learning, the online rapid leadership and training program was designed as a quick response training program for Filipino teachers for their upskilling requirements in the online set-up for School Year 2020-2021.

DepEd Region IV-A Regional Director Wilfredo Cabral says that they were able to submit their basic education contextualized learning continuity plan for the region, titled Pivot 4A QuBE, where QuBE means cube (raised to 3) and 3 represents the 3 Es - efficiency, excellence, and empowerment.

"So we would like to empower teachers to do more inside the classroom, to of course make their classrooms a center of excellence and efficiency with at some point saying we can do things better," shared RD Cabral.

In partnership with Thames International, Akadasia, EduRescue School For Teachers, UnionBank, and City Savings Bank, this initiative aims to pilot better Philippine education for 2021 and the future of educators and students of Region IV-A.

"Kailangan po kasi lahat pare-pareho tayo wala pong iwanan. Dapat lahat po tayo nasa highest standard. At ayan po ang aim natin with CALABARZON," explained Thames Co-founder and President Joel Santos.

Meanwhile, Akadasia Co-Founder and CEO Neelesh Bhatia explained that the engagement is significant in an online and blended approach since teachers need to design engaging lessons for students. (DEPED IV-A)
