KALIBO, Aklan, Jan. 22 (PIA) - A total of 218 uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) assigned in Aklan were promoted to the next higher ranks in a donning ceremony, recently held at Camp Pastor Martelino, New Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan.
The promoted Aklan cops are among the 1,439 personnel of PNP who were elevated to higher rank from Western Visayas .
PNP-Aklan provinical director Police Colonel Esmeraldo Osia Jr., who led the ceremony, stressed that the promotion that each police officer received is a symbol of their achievement not only for themselves and for the organization, but for their family as well.
"Kung mahal natin ang serbisyo, marami pang promotion ang darating sa atin," Osia added, emphasizing that the giving of promotion is not to award the police officers of what they have done but of the achievements they contributed in their entire years of police service.
He also reminded the police officers that attached to their promotions are the added responsibilities and obligations.
The 218 promoted personnel include eight Police Executive Master Sergeant; two Police Chief Master Sergeant; 15 Police Senior Master Sergeant; 19 Police Master Sergeant; 14 Police Staff Sergeant; and 160 Police Corporal.
Due to health and safety protocol to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the PNP organization restricted the attendees of the ceremony. Even the families of the newly promoted cops were not allowed to personally witness the ceremony.
Meanwhile, three municipal police stations in Aklan were honored by the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) as Top Performing Police Stations in the province. These are the police stations of Kalibo, Malay, and Numancia. (LTP/SQP/PIA AKLAN)
