Nissan To Expand India Portfolio  3 New Cars Incoming In 2026-27

Nissan India has astrong presence in export marketswith products like the Magnite, Kicks, Sunny and Micra. However, the domestic portfolio is in need of a major upgrade. As of now, the Magnite is the only Nissan model on sale in India. This will change soon, as multiple product launches are planned over the next two years. Lets get more details about the upcoming Nissan cars.

Nissan 2026 plans Updated Magnite

As part of its renewed strategy for the Indian market, Nissan will first launch the MY2026 Magnite. Updates could include cosmetic touch-ups and some new additions to the equipment list. Major changes are unlikely with the MY2026 Magnite. Powertrain options are expected to be carried over.

Magnite is offered with a 72 PS 1.0-litre NA petrol and a 100 PS 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option. Transmission choices include 5MT and 5AMT for the NA petrol and 5MT and CVT for the turbo petrol engine.Factory-approved CNG retrofit optionis also available with Magnite, for both manual and AMT variants. The SUV has strong safety credentials with a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests. Magnite competes with rivals such as Maruti Fronx and Renault Kiger.

Tekton SUV, Gravite MPV

It is expected that Nissan will unveil the newTekton SUVin February, which will be positioned in the 4.2m 4.4m SUV segment. Tekton will compete with rivals such as Hyundai Creta,Kia Seltos,Tata Sierra, Maruti Victoris, Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and Honda Elevate.

is based on the CMF-B platform, which can also be seen with the new-gen Renault Duster. The latter is scheduled for launch in India on 26th January. While sharing parts and features, Tekton and the new-gen Duster have completely distinct profiles. Powertrain options are expected to be the same for Tekton and the new Duster. Petrol and hybrid powertrains will be on offer, with the option of AWD with the higher variants.

New SUV

After unveiling the Tekton, Nissan will announce the prices for theGravite MPVin March. Gravite is likely based on the CMF-A+ architecture, which is currently seen with the Renault Triber. Based on images shared by Nissan, one can notice that Gravite has a sporty profile and strong road presence. The MPV follows Nissans latest design language, as evident with signature features such as the C-shaped front fascia and grille. At the rear, the MPV has edgy tail lamps and C-shaped bumper design.

New Nissan 7-seater C-SUV incoming in 2027

Similar to the combo ofnew-gen Dusterand its 7-seater Boreal/Bigster SUV, Nissan will be introducing its own 7-seater SUV based on the Tekton. However, it will be a completely differentiated product instead of just being a 7-seater version of the Tekton. This has been confirmed by Nissan Indias managing director, Saurabh Vatsa.

Nissan is yet to reveal the name of its upcoming 7-seater C-SUV. It will be based on the CMF-B platform, just like Tekton. A longer wheelbase is expected to accommodate the additional seats, along with some mechanical and design changes as well.

To make its updated portfolio easily accessible to a larger audience, Nissan is working to expand its dealer network across India. From the existing 150 showrooms, the plan is to increase the count to 200 showrooms. Nissan is aiming to achieve this goal before the launch of the Tekton SUV. By 2027 when prices are announced for the 7-seat SUV, Nissan is aiming to further increase its dealer network count to 250. Hiring of sales and service personnel will also be increased over the next two years.
