After launching theXUV7XOmid-size SUV, Mahindra hosted a surprise special event in Jaisalmer where we witnessed the launch of XUV3XO EV. The presentation was quite simple as Mahindra has not made any significant update to XUV3XO on which this new electric SUV is based. It will lock horns with Nexon EV and Punch EV from Tata and Citroen eC3.
Where pricing is concerned, has been priced from Rs 13.89 lakh (Ex-sh), while Nexon EV starts from Rs 12.49 lakh (Ex-sh), Punch EV from Rs 9.99 lakh (Ex-sh) and eC3 from Rs 12.9 lakh (Ex-sh). What Mahindra has done is de-clutter the variant lineup as there are only two. Lets dive deeper and see how XUV3XO EV fares against its rivals.

Starting with dimensions, we can see that Nexon EV is the longest, but not by a big margin over Nexon EV. It has to be noted that XUV3XO EV is a little shorter in length than XUV3XO ICE SUV. XUV3XO EV is the widest of this bunch while packing the longest wheelbase and largest wheels, whereas Punch EV is the tallest at 1,633 mm and has the largest boot at 366L.
Where battery capacity is concerned, Nexon EV still takes the lead with its 45 kWh battery pack. XUV3XO EV follows closely with 39.5 kWh. Claimed range is also higher with Nexon EV at 489 km, as opposed to 456 km of XUV3XO and up to 421 km of Punch EV. Tata quotes C75 range figures of up to 375 km with Nexon EV and up to 290 km with Punch EV.

Mahindra is promising 285 km of real world range with XUV3XO EV. When compared to Nexon EV, XUV3XO EV has more emphasis on performance with 310 Nm of peak torque. It is also the quickest in this bunch accelerating to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds. XUV3XO offers a 7.2 kW AC charger and rear disc brakes as standard, which others dont.
There are lower MR variants of Nexon EV and Punch EV with 3.3 kW AC chargers and rear drum brakes. XUV3XO EV, Nexon EV and Punch EV offer three driving modes and adjustable regen modes, while eC3 only has 2 drive modes and regen is not adjustable.

Features and Creature Comforts
Where features and creature comforts are concerned, only the Citroen eC3 lags behind significantly, while the other three are quite comparable. All cars in this comparo come with a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Only eC3 comes with an LCD MID, whereas others come with a 10.2-inch TFT instrument cluster as well.
XUV3XO EVis the only one to offer dual zone climate control and all vehicles come with auto headlights and rain-sensing wipers. Only XUV3XO EV and Nexon EV come with panoramic sunroof and Level-2 ADAS. Punch EV is expected to get ADAS in 2026 with an update, while nothing of that sort is expected with Citroen. Nexon EV has a 9-speaker JBL music system, whereas XUV3XO EV comes with 7-speaker Harman Kardon system.
Common features between XUV3XO EV, Nexon EV and Punch EV include 360-degree cameras, rear AC vents, wireless charging pad, LED lighting and more, while Citroen eC3 lacks all of these.
