Tata Motorscurrently has a massive presence in B Segment (Sub 4m) vehicles and is increasing its presence in C Segment as well. The company is set to launch a few vehicles in the coming future to fortify its portfolio and to diversify into a wider horizon of powertrain options and other options.
For the month of April 2026, Tata Motors has decided to hike the car prices by up to 1.09%. While an exact reason for this price hike is not mentioned, one can attribute it to rising input costs. Heres a model-wise price hike and how it affects the base model prices.
Tata Price Hike April 2026
Some vehicles do not get any price hikes and maintain the same base price that they used to come with before. These vehicles include Harrier Petrol, Harrier Diesel, Safari Petrol, Sierra Petrol andSierraDiesel. All these vehicles retain their base prices as they were.
In percentage terms, the highest price hike with their base variants is with Tigor at 1.09%, which amounts to Rs 6,000, taking the base price from Rs 5,48,990 to Rs 5,54,990 (Ex-sh). Next in line is Punch which gets a price hike of around Rs 5,000 which translates to 0.89% with the base variant, taking the price from Rs 5,59,990 to Rs 5,64,990 (Ex-sh).
This was followed by Nexon which is now costlier by Rs 5,100 for the base variant, which now costs Rs 7,36,990, up from Rs 7,31,890 (Ex-sh). This is a hike of 0.7%. Safari Diesel prices have been hiked too with range now starting from Rs 14,74,990, which used to start at Rs 14,66,290 with a price hike of Rs 8,700 which is around 0.59%.
Tiagogets a price hike for April 2026 too and the base variant now starts for Rs 4,59,990, which used to be Rs 4,57,490. This is a hike of Rs 2,500 accounting for around 0.55% (Ex-sh). The lowest price hike was with Curvv SUV, which is around 0.45% for the base variant taking the base price from Rs 9,65,690 to Rs 9,69,990 (Ex-sh).
Altroz gets price cut
Not all vehicles from Tata Motors get the same price hike for the month of April 2026. In fact, one vehicle even gets a price reduction in April 2026. Of course were talking about the Tata Altroz premium hatchback. Tata has reduced the prices of Altroz by up to 0.04%, bringing the base price to Rs 6,29,990 from Rs 6,30,390 with a reduction of Rs 400 (all prices Ex-sh).
The price reduction with Altroz hints at a possible slump in sales over time. If we take a look at sales breakup from the month ofFebruary 2026, we can see that Altroz sold 2,063 units with 28.62% YoY growth and a 34.19% MoM decline.
