MG Motor India has reported strong sales momentum in March 2026, with total wholesales of 6,528 units. This marks an 18.67% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 5,501 units sold in March 2025, translating to a volume gain of 1,027 units. On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, the company registered a significant 31.69% growth over February 2026 sales of 4,957 units, indicating improving demand across its portfolio.
MG Sales Q1 2026 Strong Quarterly Performance
MG Motor India also reported strong quarterly performance for Q1 2026, with domestic sales reaching 16,319 units. This represents a 16.92% YoY growth compared to 13,958 units sold in Q1 2025, reflecting a volume increase of 2,361 units.
MG Motors lineup in India includes both ICE and EV offerings. ICE models such as Astor, Hector, Hector Plus and Gloster continue to contribute to volumes, while EVs like Comet EV, Windsor EV and ZS EV are driving the brands electric push. Premium offerings such as M9 electric MPV and Cyberster electric sports car further strengthen MGs positioning. Growth is currently being led by strong demand for Windsor EV, which has been contributing significantly to overall volumes.
MG New Pricing Strategy
From , the company has announced a price hike across its portfolio. The increase goes up to 7% for select models such as Cyberster and M9, while a broader price hike of around 2% has been applied across the lineup. This move is aimed at offsetting rising input and production costs.
The company continues to expand its portfolio in India with new products focused on advanced technology and safety. One of the keyupcoming launches is the MG Starlight SUV, which has already been patented in India. Positioned as a rival to Mahindra XUV7X0 and Tata Harrier, the Starlight is expected to be offered with PHEV and EV powertrain options for the Indian market.
With steady monthly growth and a strong quarterly performance, MG Motor India appears well-positioned to further strengthen its presence in the Indian passenger vehicle segment.
